Anvil TAG Yamaha’s James Rispoli will be back in action at this weekend’s MCE British Superbike round at Oulton Park sfter undergoing surgery and rehab on his little finger.
The American crashed at Silverstone and had to have the top of his finger sawn off by doctors in an operation but he is now fighting fit.
“I’m really excited, my finger has been healing and everything is going to plan with it, and I want to carry on the momentum we had in qualifying and race one at Silverstone into Oulton Park. We are going to be starting a little bit on the back foot because we missed the test day, which was really unfortunate,” said Rispoli.
“I’ve been doing a lot of physio and a lot of laser work on my finger, and as far as movement with it goes, it won’t hinder me. However with positioning of it on the handle bar I get stiffness from it, mainly from the sides where they folded the skin back up and there are a lot of nerves there, and that is where I could get some pain, and that could take some getting used to, but I’m confident it won’t hinder me getting a result.
“The goal again this weekend is to be amongst the factory bikes, and be the top Yamaha, that is my new goal. It’s going to be tough because Hopper looked fast at the test and a few others did race runs. We need to really have as much time as we can and do as many laps as we can, so hopefully we have dry track time. I’m looking for two solid rides, and grabbing two bags full of points.”
