Sepang MotoGP test: Rossi debuts Yamaha's new aero ideas

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has been running with his factory’s first answer to the wing ban which came into effect this year.

The 2017 M1 has scoops on the front of the fairing on either side of the radiator which are a result of the new rules instigated by technical director Danny Aldridge.

Rossi and everyone at Yamaha are tight-lipped about the new design, preferring to talk about the 2017 frame instead.

"More important than the fairing was the different frame. It was good, I like it. We have not decided yet, but the first impression was positive," said The Doctor.

"It is easier to ride the bike. We try to have an easier bike and, especially, during the second half of the race put less stress on the tyres. I feel good. Tomorrow we will continue to do a comparison from one chassis to the other and decide.”
