Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team boss Massimo Meregalli has confirmed his team will finalise their 2017 chassis decision after the Phillip Island test in two weeks’ time before moving on to the floodlights of Qatar.
Both Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales have been assessing a new for this year frame and comparing it against last year’s M1 chassis but no decisions have yet been made.
“We will compare again most of the items but what works at Phillip Island might only work there. But for sure we will make the same comparisons. However our reference circuit is Sepang,” he said.
“We came here with curiosity as there many new things, the rider and the new bikes, and it is the first test of the season but we leave this place very happy.”
