Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes went over one second under his own lap record during the final timed MCE British Superbike free practice session at Silverstone.
With eighteen minutes on the clock the Australian smashed his way to a 2'05.002 on lap ten. But then went one better and lapped a phenomenally quick 2'04.922 on his penultimate rotation, and was the only rider to reach the 2'04's this morning.
PBM Kawasaki's Shane Byrne was a second off the pace of rival, Brookes and was sixth fastest on the FP3 timesheets. JG Speedfit Kawasaki's James Ellison improved his free practice time from yesterday by six tenths and went P2.
Brookes' team-mate, Jakub Smrz lapped exactly the same time that his garage buddy did in FP2 - a 2'05.444 to go third quickest. Showdown rider, Tyco BMW's Michael Laverty set the pace yesterday but couldn't improve his speed today, in cold conditions.
The Irishman went P1 on Friday, but was 0.5s off this morning, but was still quicker than title fighters, Tommy Bridewell and Honda Racing's Dan Linfoot who ended FP3 in fifteenth and thirteenth respectively.
Moto Rapido Ducati's John Hopkins also out did his fastest lap from FP2 and a 205.823 was good enough to go P4 on the sheets. Iddon, Mossey, Cooper and Kiyonari completed the final timed session top ten.
