Silverstone BSB: First front row of the season for Iddon

Bennetts Suzuki’s Christian Iddon bagged his maiden front row start of the season, and the first for his team during the MCE British Superbike qualifying session at Silverstone.

Iddon had a difficult start to the weekend but managed to find a ‘break through’ with his machine which enabled him to put down a 2’04.520. He will start the opening race on Sunday from the front row, in third place on the grid.

His team have certainly found something which works and the former World Superbike rider was able to lap nearly two seconds under lap record pace in the final qualifying outing at the English track, and he’s now feeling comfortable and confident out on the bike.

“To be honest the weekend started this morning and we made a break through with the bike. We found something that has made the bike more ride-able for me and I can be more consistent with it - and I feel more comfortable, said Iddon at the track.

“Big thanks to the team who have worked so hard and have been good with me all year. Hopefully we can start to repay them, and I am feeling pretty good for the race to be fair.”
