Alistair Seeley stole victory from Jack Kennedy and Ben Currie to take this afternoon's Dickies British Supersport sprint race win.

The Wee Wizard, who returned to the EHA Racing Yamaha squad with whom he won at the North West 200 this year, held off the two championship leaders after a race-long battle by less than a tenth of a second.

While Seeley lined up on pole, Currie was the best starter as he hit the lead heading into Copse, while James Westmoreland and James Rispoli slotted in behind.

Although the leading duo looked to be stretching an advantage in the early laps, Rispoli and Kennedy soon made their way up to greet them as the quartet stretched a second on the next-closest man Josh Owens in fifth.

Seeley and Currie took turns at the lead while Rispoli looked for a way through on Kennedy, but they were soon joined by GP2 rider Owens on the RS Racing Kalex.

Dubliner Kennedy passed Currie to hit the front as the pack crossed the half-way point, but Seeley took the lead at Brooklands as the two continued their chop-and-change.

It was a fight between the two front-runners all the way to the final corner as Seeley squeezed through at Brooklands and held on to take the win by 0.062s, with Currie a mere 0.031s further back in third.
