MCE British Superbike bosses have confirmed that the Supersport and Superstock 600 classes will remain on the schedule for the 2018 and 2019 calendars.
After a meeting of support-class teams last night at Silverstone, series director Stuart Higgs confirmed that both the championships would continue to run despite manufacturers scaling down their 600cc efforts.
“While the long term availability of material remains unclear, we are satisfied that the current manufacturer models and parts availability will enable teams to continue to compete for at least 2018 and 2019,” said Higgs.
“The addition of a prototype 600 class (internally called Economy Moto2) alongside Supersport remains under consideration.”
