Snetterton BSB: Currie takes Stock 600 victory

CF Motorsport’s Ben Currie bagged his first ever Pirelli National Superstock 600 win after Mason Law threw away his one hundred percent record with a crash in the opening stages.

German born Australian Currie pushed the championship leader hard in the opening laps and held the lead when Law dived through at Palmers.

However, NMT No Limits Kawasaki’s Law ran wide and the front end washed out from underneath him, handing Currie a comfortable lead.

It wasn’t to be an easy win for Currie though, with Tarran Mackenzie posting a new lap record on his way to catching up to the Aussie.

The duo swapped places but Currie held the lead on the final lap as they flicked through the fast right hander of Palmers.

Mackenzie had a big tank slapper on the exit, gifting Currie half a second which he managed to hold on to up to the chequered flag.

Despite crashing, Law still holds the championship lead, which is now 13 points after Currie’s win.

Traction Control’s Joe Francis picked up the final podium spot after a lonely ride.

MWR’s Andrew Irwin drafted past South African Jordan Weaving to grab fourth by just 0.040 of a second.

Dan Stamper clinched seventh from Chrissy Rouse; the Geordie lad missing out by four thousandths of a second.

Rounding out the top ten was Tom Ward, Carl Phillips and Malachi Mitchell-Thomas.
