Snetterton BSB: Elliot pips Seeley to Stock 1000 win

Morello Racing’s Josh Elliot grabbed his second Pirelli National Superstock 1000 win of the year, after diving past Alastair Seeley on the last lap.

Tyco BMW’s Seeley got the holeshot from pole position and began to pull away, dragging his compatriot Elliot with him.

The duo battled for the duration of the race, with the power of the BMW often allowing Seeley to take back the lead down the Bentley Straight.

Seeley held the lead on the final lap and looked to be set to secure his second victory of the year but Elliot had differing ideas.

The young Northern Irishman pulled alongside around the sweeping right hander of Corrams before block passing his way into the lead at the following left hander of Murrays.

A big wheelie from Seeley halted his momentum and Elliot held on by just 0.075 of a second to lead the championship by twelve points leaving the Norfolk track.

South African Hudson Kennaugh grabbed third place, maintaining his record of finishing on the podium at every round of the year.

The former Superstock 1000 champion held off Luke Quigley and Jesse Trayler for his podium finish.

Jones-Dorling Racing’s Ashley Beech came across the line in sixth place ahead of Michael Robertson and James Egan.

Rounding out the top ten was Dominic Usher and James East
