Jack Kennedy stole a red-flag-shortened and safety car-delayed Dickies British Supersport race victory after battling back from an early altercation.

Following a three-lap safety car period for a crash on lap two and an oil spill that cut action a lap short, riders effectively battled in a four-lap sprint

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Currie nabbed the holeshot ahead of team-mate James Westmoreland, while Integro Yamaha man Kennedy was caught in a tangle that left him languishing in eighth after the first few corners.

Everquip Racing’s James Rispoli soon passed Westmoreland to take second while Kennedy fought his way back up to fourth, but Bradley Perie and Robert Kennedy hit the deck moments later and caused the safety car to come out, bunching the pack back up.

When the race got back underway for a five-lap sprint, Currie escaped with an early start, but a stray side panel left him in trouble as Rispoli kept touch just a few tenths behind.

With nearly 2.5s to make up on Currie after the safety car went in, Kennedy clawed his way back past Westmoreland and, soon after, Rispoli as he found himself within spitting distance of Currie.

Kennedy finally made a move for the lead, but a lap later the red flags were flown as an oil spill caused Rispoli, Bjorn Estment, Tom Oliver and Matt Wigley to go down.

Having made his pass just in time, the Irishman took the win from Currie, with Westmoreland snatching the final podium spot.
