RS Racing’s Taz Taylor clinched a tight HEL Performance British Motostar race win from Redline KTM’s Scott Deroue, with the pair battling together for the victory from the opening lap.

Banks Racing’s Edward Rendell completed the Moto3 podium, and never gave up on his challenge to fight for the win.

At the start of the twelve lapper, it was Taylor who got the hole-shot, only for Deroue to take the lead at Montreal, with Saez and Rendell close behind. But a rotation later Taylor got the better of the Dutch lad to regain his place on the provisional top step of the podium.

But Spanish rider, Saez led his first Motostar race on the third lap, getting the better of Taylor and Deroue on the Senna Straight, only to be overtaken by the duelling pair at Montreal.

But Saez fell off the pace, and the leading trio of Taylor, Deroue and Rendell edged on ahead. But RS Racing’s Jake Archer didn’t want to miss out on a possible podium and gained a place on the Spaniard, but he ended up in the gravel at Ogies, with Saez falling further back after avoiding the incident.

FPW Racing’s Jorel Boerboom and Repli-Cast’s Charlie Nesbitt rounded up the top five. 125 championship leader, Josh Owens continued his dominance in the class and took the spoils to bag the number one place on the rostrum, with Andrew Sawford and Jamie Edwards finishing second and third respectively.

There were a few fallers, including RCD Motorsports Ryan Longshaw at Murrays, who was taken to the medical centre for further assessment. Essential Team Racing’s Elliot Lodge and RS Racing’s Georgina Polden where inside the top ten on the final lap, but they ended up crashing out at Agostini.
