Not only did Aprilia’s Sylvain Guintoli take the World Superbike crown in fine style this year, he has also been voted WSBK Rider of the Year by bikesportnews.com readers.
The vote was a two-horse race from almost the word go with Jonathan Rea taking an early lead but as on the track, Guintoli posted consistent results to take top spot and 38.49 per cent of the votes.
Rea was in second place with 29.21 per cent and the pair were a country mile ahead of anyone else. Former champion and Rea’s new team-mate Tom Sykes took third place with 16.83 per cent with Loris Baz fourth on 4.45 per cent and Alex Lowes fifth on 2.9 per cent.
Come back tomorrow to find out who is the MCE British Superbike winner.
