Team Winfield have confirmed John McGuinness and Michael Rutter will compete for them at the 2018 Classic TT.
McGuinness will make his much anticipated return to competition on the same 500cc Paton that he won on for the team in 2016. This same machine has been previously ridden to victory by both Ryan Farquhar and, in 2017, by Josh Brookes who stood in for John following his injuries at the North West 200.
Team principal Roger Winfield said: “There are absolutely no pressures or expectations on John, other than those he chooses to put on himself. We love this event and it’s just great to have John back in the team.”
In the Classic Superbike race, Michael Rutter will ride the same Winfield Yamaha that took him to second place in 2016 when he also set the fastest ever lap by an air-cooled machine of over 125.6mph.
