‘There are no more excuses’ says Ducati MotoGP boss Dall’Igna

Ducati MotoGP boss Gigi Dall’Igna believes the team have no more excuses for not winning world championships now they have signed Jorge Lorenzo and there is now no place to hide.

The enigmatic Italian has turned Ducati Corse on its head since he began his tenure and thinks that Lorenzo plus the 2017 bike should be enough to consistently fight at the top level.

“Lorenzo is a five-time world champion, we have won two championships together and this is great. There is a lot of energy and trust, esteem and respect. These ingredients are so important in my job. So, I have to say that we do not have any longer the structure we had before,” said Dall’Igna at today’s team launch.

“The only thing we have to do now is win the world championship, there is no reasons we shouldn’t be doing this, there are no excuses, no alibis. This was one of the key reasons we decided to hire Jorge. This is a team that wants to win so we have to remove every single excuse to lose. We have changed our mindset and we now have the right one. It won’t be easy, our competitors are strong, they have top quality features but we are here to try.”
