Thruxton BSB: Law ‘gutted’ after Supersport disqualification

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Mason Law has been left ‘gutted’ after losing his Dickies British Supersport podium due to a technical infringement.

The Essex youngster had fought for a podium position with Tarran Mackenzie and bagged third place as his rear grip dropped off a cliff only to be thrown out of the results after a post-race inspection.

“After the disappointment of not quite finishing the job on Saturday, I fought really hard for that podium on Sunday, and did show that we have race-winning pace. To have that taken away from me due to a technical infringement – which I was totally unaware of – is bitterly disappointing. I’m gutted,” he said.

“We’ve had a tough start to the season and I have personally put a lot in place to turn this around, both in my training, mental approach and what I’ve brought to the team in terms of set-up experience and know how with Andrew Pitt in my corner at hand picked rounds.

“Sunday’s feature race was great to be involved in. I had no tyre left at the end, but everyone was in the same boat, so it just came down to set-up and who wanted it most. It was good fun to be involved and back on the podium, which was later taken away from me. I feel hard done by, but I’ll speak to the team to see what caused this and make sure I’m not left unfairly treated and in the same position again after riding so hard for a top result.”
