Thruxton BSB: Maiden front row start for Mossey

Quattro Plant Kawasaki's Luke Mossey bagged his debut front row start of his MCE British Superbike career, after setting a time that was under lap-record pace during qualifying at Thruxton.

The rookie lapped an impressive 1'14.899, and was only four tenths off eventual pole-setter, Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes. The Kawasaki man completes the front row and missed out on P2, by 0.2 seconds - just behind Moto Rapido Ducati's John Hopkins.

The Cambridge native has been improving at nearly every round, and he has been adapting well to riding the Superbike, after spending the majority of his racing career on the Supersport and Stock 600 machines.

But he is adamant that he is ready for the 'challenge' of fighting with the more established riders in the championship, but is under  no illusions just how 'tough' the double-header will be on Sunday.

"The last couple of rounds have come really good for us, and this is first front row start for me. I know tomorrow is going to be tough but I am ready for this challenge now," said Mossey, speaking to bikesportnews.com, from the track.

"I am adapting my style from the 600 and we have got better every weekend and we are looking forward to the rest of the season, and things are starting to click with us now and we can get into the top five every weekend, but this is a tough championship - but lets see what tomorrow brings."
