Thruxton BSB: Seeley battles through to Stock 1000 win

Tyco BMW’s Alastair Seeley put up one of the performances of his career by battling through from eighth at the halfway stage to take Pirelli National Superstock 600 victory.

The wee wizard was pushed backwards to eighth place at the halfway stage but by saving his tyre life, he was able to fight through in the final laps.

Championship leader Josh Elliott lead the race for it’s entirety until Seeley caught him on the run down the Club Chicane on the final lap.

Seeley moved to the inside and the BMW power came out on top, with Elliott having to settle for second place and see his title advantage be cut down to 17 points.

After a race long battle, Moto-Breakers Kawasaki’s Alex Olsen came out on top for the final podium place, his debut Stock 1000 podium.

Adam Jenkinson had to settle for fourth place, ahead of South African Hudson Kennaugh.

James East came strong in the closing stages to take sixth place after battling his way past Joe Burns on the Aprilia.

Jesse Trayler couldn’t bag himself back to back podiums and instead had to settle for eighth place ahead of Josh Wainwright and Leon Jeacock, who rounded out the top ten.
