Profile Triumph’s Luke Stapleford eased to his fourth Motorpoint British Supersport win on the trot, extending his championship lead to a handsome 33 points.

The championship leader took the holeshot from the front row and as we’ve seen so often over the past fortnight, he started to pull away from the chasing pack.

However, the safety car was pulled out at half race distance allowing everyone to close back up again.

Stapleford was superb from the restart once again. The safety car pulled in and the Profile Triumph rider pulled clear for the second time.

He took the chequered flag five seconds clear but the battle for the final podium spots raged on.

Six riders all fought for the two podium places and with two laps remaining on the run into the Club Chicane, they fought for the same bit of tarmac.

Dixon and Hedger dived through from the back of the pack and after a bit of bumping, Traction Control’s Rispoli ended in the gravel trap; ending his search for back to back podiums.

On the final lap, Gearlink Kawasaki’s Irwin was up the front of the group but Traction Control’s Andy Reid came drafting past and then Smiths Triumph’s Jake Dixon came through on brakes.

On the drag to the flag, Reid held strong to take second place and Dixon managed to claim the final podium place.

Irwin had to settle for fourth, ahead of his teammate Luke Hedger and Sam Hornsey.

CF Motorsport’s Kyle Ryde had a disastrous day in terms of the championship, coming through in seventh allowing Stapleford to move 33 points clear.

Ben Wilson got the better of Danny Webb for eighth and Dean Hipwell rounded out the top ten.
