‘Title chance is slim but anything can happen’ - Dixon

RAF Reserves Kawasaki’s Jake Dixon has not given up hope of taking a maiden MCE British Superbike title at Brands next weekend but recognises it will be difficult after a small points haul at Assen.

The Kent youngster struggled with the changing conditions in Holland and now trails Leon Haslam by 54 points but says that anything can happen.

“I have approached every round the same this season and Brands Hatch will be no different. I struggled at Assen as I hadn’t been there on the Superbike before and the conditions kept changing and that didn’t make it any easier. We never really found the best set-up all weekend and that wasn’t ideal.

“We can still win the championship, yes it is a fine chance but anything is possible. We can only go into the final round of the year trying to do what we have done at every round so far; trying to win races. I want to end the season on a high and I will be putting it all on the line to try and make it happen.

“I can only do what I can and everything can change so quickly; it is so close but this is the last push of the year and I love the Grand Prix circuit. I have done a double so a treble would be great.”
