Triumph celebrates a decade of its wheelie nice Street Triple

Of course, when you get to our age, every day brings some fresh earth-shattering disappointment about how old you are now, and how much closer you are getting to death’s icy fingers. And today it’s come in the form of a chirpy press release from Triumph Motorcycles. Yes, the 675 Street Triple, which we sort-of-thought came out about four or five years ago, is now ten. Happy birthday to it!

And to celebrate this monumental move into pre-teen status, the big T has cooked up some sweet limited editions, painted by Midlands custom kings, 8BALL. There’s a ‘Dark’ version of the Street Triple R, with its Brembo four-piston brakes, and two versions of the base bike, in gold and grey. All the special editions come with extra factory baubles, and are limited to just 50 examples each.

Normally we’d shrug a bit at this - but these do look pretty sweet (we’ve caught a glimpse of them in the flesh), and the standard of 8BALL’s work is always exemplary. Plus, the Street Triple is an excellent little bike - fantastic at horn monos, good fun round a race track, and even pretty practical as a day-to-day commuter.

The tenth anniversary ‘R’ costs £8,599, and the base models cost £7,999. They’re sure to sell out, so get thee to a Triumph dealer forthwith!
