Well, here’s a treat to keep us guessing over the xmas break. The Hinckley firm has put out a teaser vid of a new naked roadster, stunting about in Central Casting’s Industrial Style Sound Stage no.1. There are a few clues - mostly the headlights - which tell us it’s a new Street Triple. Yay. The original Striple is one of the best bikes Triumph has ever made, combining value, performance, user-friendliness and insanity like nothing else out there. It’s a teeny bit long in the tooth though, so an update is more than welcome.

Our top tip from our factory sources? Expect a capacity increase. Could it make it all the way up to 750cc? Bridging the gap between the 675 and Triumph’s grunty 800 triples? We’ll be aiming to find out for you first…

PS - this engine could be the start of something very exciting indeed from Triumph. Watch this space.
