TT 2015: ‘I’ll be hanging my bollocks out’ - Martin

In his typical, no-nonsense style Tyco BMW’s Guy Martin has given his assurance that he is going all-out to win his first race at the Isle of Man TT next week.

The Lincolnshire truck fitter and TV star is now more pragmatic about attaining a win on the Island, saying that his world will not stop turning if he doesn’t but he will be pushing as hard as he can to do it this year.

“It used to bother me and I’d often beat myself up at the end of the fortnight when it happened but now I don’t. Yes, it’s one of the biggest races in the world and I want to win, of course I do, but at the end of the day, if there’s anything I’ve learnt over the years, it’s that there’s more to life than racing motorbikes,” said Martin, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“It would be great to win one but it won’t change my life, it’ll be more a case of job done, box ticked. I love racing motorbikes, I really do and I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. The drive to win comes from me and I don’t need to look anywhere else for motivation.

“I apply the same work ethic to everything I do and always give 100 per cent when it comes to racing. I’m as committed as anyone else when it comes to the Mountain Course but everything needs to be right for me. It’s only a motorbike race but when everything’s right, I’ll be hanging my bollocks out you can count on that.”
