TT 2016: One-lap Anstey tops Supersport session

Flying Kiwi Bruce Anstey topped this evening’s Isle of Man TT Supersport practice with a standing-start lap of 124.508 to edge out Dean Harrison with Ian Hutchinson - Yamaha-mounted for the middleweight class - in third place.

Anstey did just one lap on his Valvoline by Padgett’s CBR600 after spending a majority of the evening dialling in the RC213V-S Superbike but his single circuit was good enough for top spot. It was marginally faster than the lap Harrison set on the Silicone Kawasaki last night and just under three seconds quicker than the Bradford man this evening who set a 124.207 on his flying lap.

Third-placed John McGuinness also completed just one quick lap, a 123.505 on the Jackson Racing Honda while Michael Dunlop had time on his Supersport and Superstock bikes after his Superbike broke at Lambfell. The Ballymoney man set a 123.170 for fourth place, one ahead of his brother William who lapped at 122.963.
