McAMS Yamaha’s Ian Hutchinson has topped the opening Supersport practice session at TT 2017, edging out fierce rival Michael Dunlop with privateer Gary Johnson in third place.
Hutchinson set a fastest lap of 121.147mph on roads that are still damp in several places while Dunlop was only narrowly behind on a 121.020 from a standing start on his second lap after pulling in for adjustments.
Johnson, who is running his own Triumph this year, set his best lap on his first with 120.311 and then pulled in before going back out again. Veteran Bruce Anstey ended in fourth with 119.974 on the Padgetts Honda.
James Hiller was fifth with 119.776 and chased hard by Jamie Coward on a 118.979. William Dunlop, with his Markus Eschenbacher-tuned Yamaha, was seventh on a 118.781, Dan Kneen in eighth with a 118.731, Lee Johnston ninth on a 118.386 and close mate Lee Johnston completed the top ten with a 118.356.
Guy Martin finished on a 117.092.
