Silicone Kawasaki’s Dean Harrison carried on his Saturday night Superpsort form into this evening’s opening Superbike practice with two 131mph laps, the second fastest from a standing start, which saw him top the timesheets with Michael Dunlop in second and Peter Hickman in third.
Harrison set a first-lap marker with a 130.232 then put in a 1’31.376 with his second lap before putting in a lap on the Superstocker before going back to the Superbike, setting a 131.272 again from a standing start.
Dunlop’s opening lap saw him set a 129.357 before switching to his spare Tyco BMW but he pulled off at Governor’s Bridge before he also switched to the Superstock bike. Dunlop then set a 129.117 from a standing start before sticking in a 131.087 with his only flying lap.
The pair put in the six fastest laps between them while Hickman, who also topped the Superstock times, set a 129.000 lap with his only flying lap. Local man Dan Kneen finished in fourth on the Tyco BMW with a 128.788 while David Johnson put the Gulf BMW in fifth with a 127.686.
Methodical James Hiller finished in sixth with a 127.300 on his third lap with Ivan Lintin right behind him on a 126.821. Sam West was eighth on his BMW with Ian Hutchinson putting his Fireblade ninth with a 125.843. Jamie Coward’s third lap was enough for tenth on a 125.768.
Josh Brookes set a 125.667 from a standing start and then a second, slightly slower lap, before a breakdown a Sulby cut short his third effort. Lee Johnston was 12th, Phil Crowe 13th, Shaun Anderson 14th and William Dunlop 15th.
Conor Cummins only made it to Ballacraine before his Fireblade gave up.
