Tsingtao MV boost factory ties at Cartagena Supersport test

Tsingtao Hampshire MV Agusta boss Dave Tyson was delighted with his British Supersport team’s recent test at Cartagena as his young squad gained valuable experience and knowledge early in pre-season working alongside the factory squad.

Tyson’s squad travelled to Spain this week to conduct a three-day testing program at the 3.5km circuit alongside MV Agusta’s world teams and the team owner believes the work will stand both Jake Dixon and Joe Collier in good stead ahead of more testing in March.

“It’s just been good, learning lots really – there are certain things with their suspension that they are doing, which we haven’t looked at and we’re doing that now with K-Tech,” he told bikesportnews.com.

The British Supersport squad tested in Cartagena alongside MV’s World Superbike rider Leon Camier, World Supersport factory riders Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti as well as test rider Massimo Roccoli.

Team Factory Vamag and Schmidt Racing, who will both run MV Agusta’s this season were also in attendance with Roberto Rolfo and Nico Terol, respectively.

“We’ve been doing loads of new things and it’s been good,” continued Tyson. “Jules and Zanetti and the test rider have all been very engaging and we’ve been doing a lot of work with their crew chief.

“It’s been really, really valuable. To be out this early is mad. We’ll test with them, and we’ll test with their guys coming to our bikes later in the year, so maybe at the Pro-Test we’ll have a couple of engineers from the factory there so it should be good.”
