Vinales ‘still not thinking’ about contracts for MotoGP 2017

Spain’s new MotoGP wunderkind Maverick Vinales insists he isn’t thinking about whether he will switch away from the Ecstar Suzuki squad at the end of this season.

The youngster is at the top of everyone’s shopping list after his pre-season test form, front-row grid slot and sixth place finish in Qatar but is waiting to see if Suzuki can put together a championship-winning package for him in the near future.

“For sure at the moment I'm still not thinking about it. My mind is set on the races and trying to do the best I can and try to take all the profits of the Suzuki but anyway the only thing that would make me believe in Suzuki are the results,” said Vinales, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“For sure if I see that in the future Suzuki can have a bike I can be a World Champion with, then this can convince me to stay but anyway I'm here at Suzuki and I feel really great here. At the moment I feel that this is my team, my place to be, so for sure if I need to leave it's going to be so difficult. But anyway I think that a rider needs to make his own career and needs to find the good parts, the good bike, the good team to win the Championship.
