‘We don’t have a bike we can fight with’ - Laverty

Milwaukee Aprilia’s Eugene Laverty continues to struggle with the works RSV4 and at the Aragon WorldSBK round, the Monegasque was still unable to stop or turn the bike as he would like, making a fight with the competition ‘dangerous’.

Portimao test aside, Laverty hasn’t been able to get the bike to behave as he would like and even switching to a 2013 chassis didn’t improve matters, so he will spend today testing at Aragon in order to find some solutions.

“We are struggling, compared to even the Aprilia of last year. When I see Mercado on track he looks like the other guys. There is something seriously wrong with this year’s bike and we need to get to the bottom of it because at the moment, it is dangerous to try and fight,” said Laverty, speaking at the track.

“In race one, I hit other people four times and that is just dangerous. I can’t turn the bike, I can’t stop it, there is an underlying issue. At the start I was in secnd and was up for a good fight, but the other guys just rode around me. The wind was really bad out there too and it affected all of us.

“At the moment we don't have a bike we can fight with, there's something that we are missing. We need to find lap time as soon as we can.”
