‘We need some huge improvements’ says Davies

Aruba Ducati’s Chaz Davies has a raft of parts and upgrades to test today at Motorland Aragon as taking race wins away from Jonathan Rea is now more vital than ever.

Davies bounced back from a crash on Saturday to win the second Aragon WorldSBK race yesterday morning but he believes they have a lot of work to do as Rea looks ‘comfortable’ on his ZX-10RR and the Welshman has a 50-point deficit to make up.

“The weekend was a disaster up until the last lap of the second race and the only moment of joy was bringing home the win. I knew the bike would be good here but we still need to work in a lot of areas. We are there or thereabouts at this track but we still need to make some huge improvements,” said Davies, speaking at the track.

“The test is really important for us. We have got a lot of stuff to try but from what I am seeing of our main competitor we need to take home 25 points as he seems relatively comfortable and we need to at least fight for the win because 20 points isn’t enough.”
