World Superbike bosses are considering allowing teams to use their current electronics packages for the first two rounds of next season in case of any problems arising over the switch to 2015 regulations.
Next year’s regulations state that all manufacturers must make their price-capped electronics packages available to all teams using the same marque.
But at a meeting of the Superbike commission in Madrid, it was agreed to consider, on an individual basis, any manufacturer request to use their 2014 electronics should any issues arise with the new systems.
Manufacturers must make available to all ‘customer’ teams on the same brand of machinery the same 2014 electronics so as not to disadvantage them - which all sounds fairly expensive.
