'All hands on deck' for Honda boss Beltran ahead of 2020 season

Honda Racing boss Havier Beltran has all hands on deck in order to get the new Fireblade ready in time for pre-season testing with bikes out with suppliers and on the dyno as well as parts being made in house.

A couple of the bikes are stripped and send to suppliers for bodywork fitment, as well as Akrapovic for the new exhaust system.

As the Fireblade SP is brand new the team are literally starting from scratch. Making use of the in-house machine shop, new parts will be manufactured from triple clamps, linkages, handlebars, rear sub-frames and much more.

After a few hours in the workshop, the team’s dyno facility is fired up and a shiny new Fireblade SP has been taken through its paces.

“It really is an exciting time for the team and also Honda, to see the all-new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in action,” said Beltran.

“The feeling around the new bike is so strong and I think it’s going to impress both race fans and customers alike. Since the Fireblade SPs arrived the team has been flat out getting to know the machines, as everything is new.

“We have parts being made in the machine shop, bikes on the dyno and bikes being delivered to suppliers, so it really is all hands to the deck at the moment. I really can’t wait for testing and to see all the hard work and commitment in place when the guys leave pit lane for the first time.”
