Anstey to make racing return at Donington Classic in August

Thirteen-time Isle of Man TT winner Bruce Anstey has confirmed he will make his racing return at the Donington Classic Motorcycle Festival on 3-4 August.

The New Zealander missed the entire 2018 season after battling cancer, but has been passed fit to race again. His upcoming festival appearance is set to be his first race since his diagnosis, having last taken victory at the Classic TT in August 2017.

Clive Padgett’s Batley-based race team Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles is providing a 250cc Honda for Anstey to race at Donington, with the team and rider enjoying a long association. The Festival will be part of Anstey’s build-up and preparation for this year’s Classic TT on the Isle of Man.

“I’m so looking forward to getting back on a race track; its two years to the month since I was last able to race. To make my comeback at Donington with the CRMC is a dream come true! Hopefully we can then move on to the 250 Classic TT,” said the Kiwi.

The Donington Park Classic Motorcycle Festival will feature more than 40 races for a mixture of solo and sidecar machines, while huge display areas and parades will ensure there is plenty for all visitors to enjoy around the venue.
