James Ellison has switched away from the MV Agusta he rode at Oulton and will replace Josh Elliott on the OMG Suzuki for the Assen Bennetts British Superbike Showdown opener.

After suffering with food poisoning at the last round, Elliott will sit out the Dutch round as he tries to find confidence with big GSX-R1000 while Ellison rides for his third team of 2019.

Ellison makes OMG a three strong rider line-up, with Luke Mossey being joined by the hopefully fit Billy McConnell.

"I’m very excited for the opportunity to ride the OMG GSX-R1000R at Assen, Paul and the team are great guys and we’ve met a few times this year through our connection to Powerslide Motorcycles," said Ellison.

"I know the bike is competitive and had the opportunity to ride a stock bike GSX-R at Donington track day, so I should settle quickly and hopefully we can have two good races this weekend.”
