Assen BSB: 'It's been a long time since the podium' – Mackenzie

McAMS Yamaha's Tarran Mackenzie is determined to get back on the Bennetts British Superbike podium at this weekend's Assen Showdown opener and would like to get his first win since Silverstone back in April.

The youngster squeaked into the top six at Oulton Park - doing what he needed to secure a Showdown spot - and is now hoping to make inroads into the Ducati-fest at the top of the points table.

“I’m looking forward to Assen. We had a really good outing there last year and was close to the win so hopefully we can hit the ground running from FP1 and have a solid weekend," said Mackenzie.

"The last three rounds are obviously important and we need to make the most of being in the Showdown.

"The three circuits suit the Yamaha, so that’s a positive. It feels like a long time ago since I was last on the podium and I haven’t won since Silverstone so I want to be back fighting at the front and trying to win races, if we can do that then the rest will take care of itself.”
