Barbera confirmed with Quattro Kawasaki for Thruxton BSB

Spaniard Hector Barbera will be back on the Bennetts British Superbike Championship grid at Thruxton as the former MotoGP rider again lines up with the Quattro Plant JG Speedfit Kawasaki team forhis debut at the high-speed Hampshire circuit.

The team have high hopes ahead of their home round of the season and after parting company with Glenn Irwin, the 2015 MotoGP Open class champion will line up for the team for the fourth time this season.

“After learning more about the bike at Snetterton I am very excited to be asked to ride at Thruxton. It’s another new circuit, which I am really looking forward to," said Barbera.

"The BSB fans are incredible and I just want to put on a good show for them and the team. I need to thank everyone again for this opportunity in BSB.”

Barbera debuted with the team at Donington Park, securing a sixth and eighth place finish and scored pole position for the final race in the triple-header weekend. Last time out at Snetterton, he claimed an impressive seventh place finish on his first visit to the Norfolk circuit.

It is unclear whether crew chief Phil Marron will be with the team as it is believed he would like some sort of summer holiday before his WorldSBK commitments begin again with the Portimao test in August.
