Be Wiser Ducati’s Josh Brookes heads into this weekend’s Bennetts British Superbike round at Brands Hatch believing all the ingredients are in place for a brace of good results.
The 2015 champion sits fourth in the title stakes despite three non-finishes and has a good history at the Kent track where he has finished on the podium in four of the last eight races to be held on the GP circuit.
“The first thing on my mind is to see if the bike performs good on that track and I expect that it will after the tracks it has been to so far,” said the Australian.
“I tend to have a history of good results at Brands and in the past so has Ducati but there are lots of other riders to beat. Never a guaranteed result but all the ingredients are there to have a strong weekend. I would certainly like to get some good points in my direction for the championship.
I think Oulton was the point the bike showed potential, and the same at Donington where Scott got the results. It’s a strong competitive package but everyone else has been right there too in qualifying and even the races it’s been +0 between riders and no real lead stretched like we have seen in the past.
“I think Brands will be another close weekend and for sure Tommy Bridewell will be strong as he likes Brands for sure and the Suzukis should be stronger, the Yamaha we won with last year and has good results there previously so I have every expectation for a lot of riders pushing for the front places.
“You have to be totally 100% on your game and I am hoping to up mine when we get to Brands Hatch.”
