Bennetts British Superbike Rider’s Cup champion Tommy Bridewell has revealed he’s already looking forward to next season with a new bike and a ‘super-fast’ team-mate.
The Moto Rapido Ducati rider signed off what he called a ‘roller coaster’ season with two runner-up finishes in the wet today, admitting afterwards that it was a great accomplishment to bag seventh in the championship and secure the highest non-Showdown finish in the series.
But Bridewell says he already has eyes on 2019 after surviving today’s difficult conditions and a hard year.
“I know the Rider’s Cup is only seventh, but to fight back from the start of the year to stand here now with another double podium, finishing seventh in the championship is a big achievement for me and the team,” he said.
“Race one today it was slick but I felt a lot more comfortable. Then in race two I don’t know if it was a bit wetter or if it was the temperature, but it was a tricky race – really tricky.
“It’s been a hell of a roller coaster year for sure, but it’s nice to bounce back, finish the year like we have and get ready for next year.
“I’m looking forward to next year. New bike, new challenge – nothing’s been announced yet but it’s going to be a phenomenal year with a super-fast team-mate.
