Brands BSB finale: Skinner claims another Supersport pole

Rory Skinner claimed pole position for this afternoon’s Quattro British Supersport Championship race at Brands Hatch with a near half second advantage over Harry Truelove.

Having clinched the title at the previous round, there was no let up from Skinner and with the GP circuit continually drying, lap times tumbled and it was a 1’28.600s lap that gave the Tysers Yamaha rider the top spot.

At one stage, he enjoyed a one-second advantage over the rest of the field but first Ben Currie (Gearlink Kawasaki) brought that down to 0.495s and then a late, flying lap from Truelove (Truelove Brothers Racing Yamaha) saw the gap down to 0.324s with Australian Currie holding onto third to complete the front row.

That meant Bradley Perie (Diamond H Racing Yamaha) got pushed onto the second row where he’ll be joined by Korie McGreevy (Century Racing Yamaha), the Ulsterman returning from injury, and James Westmoreland on the second Gearlink Kawasaki.

Luke Hedger, Lee Johnston, Bradley Jones and Mason Law completed the top ten, the latter the leading GP2 Cup rider as he looks to re-take the Championship lead from Jack Scott (JJ Racing Harris) later this afternoon.
