Brands BSB: Kent on personal best form| BSB Staff | British Superbikes
Buildbase Suzuki’s Danny Kent bounced back with a personal best at Brands Hatch during round five of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
Having recovered from serious injuries earlier in the season, Kent secured a best finish of ninth in Sunday’s opening race, having already circulated on the fringes of the top ten during Saturday’s eBay sprint.
A personal best lap time in the mix also motivated the former Moto3 Champion before he was forced to retire from the final action having run as high as seventh in the initial stages.
“It was a better weekend for me, for sure,” Kent confirmed. “I was feeling good coming into the weekend after the test at Mallory and I was feeling better physically.
“I set a new Brands PB this weekend too but it shows show strong the field is when we were still down in 15th. But we looked at the laptop and tried to improve and make some changes.
“We got some points on the board which, I think, shows we’ve made progress, and I was happy to come away with a ninth place this weekend. These were some of my better races this year, and hopefully now we can keep pushing and have a good second half of the year.”
