British Superbike teams to test at Monteblanco and Jerez in 2020

A new decade of Bennetts British Superbike Championship action starts next month as the first of the two European official tests kick off in Spain, with the teams and riders back on track in preparation for the opening round of the season at Silverstone this Easter (April 10/11/12).

The opening test returns to Monteblanco, with three days on track to get the new season underway on February 26/27/28. The circuit featured on the official test schedule last year and 2019 champion Scott Redding and McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O’Halloran had been the pacesetters on track.

The Monteblanco test will mark the debut for the much-anticipated new Honda Fireblade as Glenn Irwin makes his debut with the team alongside brother Andrew Irwin, plus the new Yamaha R1 as O’Halloran and Tarran Mackenzie, plus Jack Kennedy and Dan Linfoot get to experience their new Superbikes.

It will also mark the first official appearance of several new team and rider line-ups including Christian Iddon on the VisionTrack PBM Ducati as he joins the reigning title-winning team alongside 2019 runner-up Josh Brookes.

All new team line-ups including Keith Farmer and Kyle Ryde at Buildbase Suzuki, Bradley Ray at TAS BMW and Hector Barbera at OMG Racing BMW plus the addition of Lee Jackson alongside Danny Buchan at Massingberd Mundy FS3-Racing Kawasaki, means the opening test is going to be crucial as the season gets underway.

The teams and riders will then head to Jerez on March 1/2 for the first visit by the Championship for an official test. The World Championship circuit will be a new challenge for the class of 2020, and with two days on circuit, this will be the final opportunity on track before teams return to the UK in preparations for the first official UK test at Silverstone on April 2.
