Buchan to make Suzuka Eight-Hours debut with Bolliger Kawasaki

Bennetts British Superbike star Danny Buchan will make his Suzuka Eight-Hours debut at the end of next month after signing a deal with the Bolliger Racing team.

Regular rider Roman Stamm suffered a broken hand in the Oschersleben race and Buchan - who is fifth in the BSB title chase - has been wheeled in to replace him for the iconic Japanese event.

“The Suzuka Eight-Hours has been on my bucket list for a while now so to get a phone call to ask if I wanted to go and ride wasn’t a hard decision to make,” said Buchan.

“It’s such a huge, prestigious event and I will be riding a Kawasaki ZX-10RR on K-Tech suspension and Pirellityres. Obviously the bike will be different to my FS-3 Racing Kawasaki but it’s a motorbike with two wheels and an engine, so I’m really looking forward to getting started out there.

As it’s my first endurance event, I’m under no illusions how hard it will be not only mentally but physically, having said that I am a lot smarter now so I will soak up as much knowledge as I can and enjoy riding the bike. Well enjoy the hour stints as much as I can.

“I have to say a massive thank you to my team for letting me go over and compete in this event and to Nick at MSS Performance for orchestrating the deal along with my team boss Nigel Snook. Together with Team Bolliger Kawasaki they have made this happen. So let’s get it on.”
