Jack Kennedy took a step closer to another Dickies British Supersport title with a dominant win in today's opening sprint race.
The Integro Yamaha man led every lap while his team-mate Brad Jones made it a squad one-two after fending off the advances of GP2 runner Kyle Ryde.
Kennedy grabbed the holeshot as Jones slotted into second on the run up Coppice, but it wasn't long before Kovara Projects' Ryde was nipping at Jones' heels.
Before long, Kennedy had stretched his own advantage out front and Jones was in a lone battle with Ryde as the two diced for runner-up honours.
But Ryde was forced to drop back after being squeezed out by Jones at the Chicane, leaving the Kalex rider to run straight on as he lost ground on his race rival.
Meanwhile, Irishman Kennedy was in a league of his own with victory almost seven seconds up the road from his team-mate Jones as Ryde settled for third over nine seconds off the win.
