Last-minute replacmenr rider Gino Rea bagged the new Bike Devil MV Agusta squad their first Bennetts British Superbike points of the season at Cadwell Park yesterday.
Rea was drafted into the team with an hour's notice on Thursday night after Danny Kent's contract was terminated following a criminal conviction.
The Londoner worked on setup through Firday and then took the F4-RR into qualifying two for only the second time. Rea then moved forward places to bag 12th in the opening race of the day.
“I’m over the moon to have been able to bring the bike home for a points score first time out,” said Rea.
“I only saw it for the first time on Thursday night but we made some gradual improvements over the weekend and found a setup which was enough to finish only five seconds outside the top ten.
“Big thanks to the team for the opportunity to ride this weekend, it was very enjoyable.”
