Donington BSB: Bridewell 'never found the sweet spot'

Oxford Racing Ducati's Tommy Bridewell says he never found the sweet spot on his Panigale V4R at the Donington Park Bennetts British Superbike round but manage a brace of podiums which kept him in the title fight.

Bridewell is now the only rider who can prevent Be Wiser Ducati from taking the 2019 crown although whoever lifts it will have been riding a Ducati this year.

"With the weather it wasn't the easiest weekend for sure - not just me, for everyone, and I didn't quite find the sweet spot with the bike," said Bridewell.

"I didn't feel amazing on it, I must be honest, but credit to the team we still managed to pull it out of the bag for a couple of podiums.

"There were certain parts of the circuit I felt really strong and other parts I was just losing too much. I had a good dig at trying to keep up but didn't quite have enough.

"We had to bring it home for third which is a little disappointing but in the grand scheme of things it's OK."
