Donington BSB: Josh Day update - awake and eating

Astro JJR Host-It Triumph rider Josh Day is awake and alert following yesterday’s accident during Saturday’s Quattro British Supersport race.

The British Superbike Medical team provided an update to Day’s condition confirming his sedation had been decreased allowing him to wake from the medically induced coma required overnight due to ‘a significant head injury’ sustained during the first lap incident at Roberts corner with David Jones.

“Josh’s sedation was decreased this morning so he could wake from the induced coma. He is becoming more alert and, despite a broken jaw, has managed to eat soft food and drink,” the statement read.

Day is being treated at the Queens Medical Centre/University Hospital, Nottingham. Jones sustained a shoulder injury in the sprint race crash.
