Donington BSB test: Times don't tell full story for Mackenzie

McAMS Yamaha's Tarran Mackenzie is happy with his work at the final Bennetts British Superbike pre-season test and says the final timesheet position doesn't tell the whole story.

The little Scotsman ended up four-tenths off the pace of the team-mate Jason O'Halloran but pleased with his race overall.

"Post-lockdown we've done a few miles on the superbike and I've done a lot of miles on my practice bike so we came here bike fit and not having to worry about getting back into the swing of it," said Mackenzie.

"I had a good feeling with the bike straight away, we didn't change too many things I just wanted to get a feel for the new R1 around this track as it's the first track I've ridden it at that we'll race at so I wanted to make sure we made use of the time.

"I'm really happy with our pace, it might not look great on the timesheets but I know we've had a strong day and hopefully it'll pay off next weekend."
