Donington GP BSB: Jenner clinches Junior Supersport crown

Owen Jenner clinched the HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship at Donington Park in dramatic fashion when he and main title rival Seth Crump crashed within 50 yards of each other.

Jenner (Affinity Sports Academy Kawasaki) came into the final two races this weekend with a 36-point lead over Crump with the Australian taking an early lead in this morning's 10-lap race with Jenner slotting into fifth.

However, Jenner crashed at Coppice second time around and held his head in his hands as he thought his lead would be slashed ahead of this afternoon's final race.

Unbeknown to him though, Crump had crashed just a bit further round the corner and it took a few moments before the events sunk in for the Crowborough youngster.

With both riders in the gravel but with his 36-point remaining intact, Jenner - who rides for Leon Hasam's new-for-2020 team - cannot be caught with just one race to go and duly clinched the title.

Taz Taylor, returning to racing after a two-year lay-off took the win on the Symcirrus Motorsport Kawasaki.
