Ducati’s MotoGP boss Gigi Dall’Igna has hit back at Andrea Dovizioso’s recent criticisms, saying he has been hurt by the Italian’s comments.

Dovizioso accused the enigmatic engineer of an unwillingness to listen among other crimes but Dall’Igna has stated it was all in the usual course of business and relationships.

“I don’t think the media is the right place to deal with these issues. Certainly the relationship with Dovi was the longest in Ducati history, where we both gave our best,” he said.

“We also did our best to try to bring home the best possible result. Professional relationships are destined to end, and that was our case last year. I’m sorry from a professional point of view, but also on the human side.

After eight MotoGP seasons together, Dovizioso’s criticism hurts. Of course I respect them, I have many collaborators to lead and I am usually used to listening to all of them to make decisions. Dovizioso has been important, but relationships are destined to end.”
