South African Bjorn Estment will return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship paddock this season with Everquip/Catfoss Racing, making his debut in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship onboard a Suzuki GSX-R1000.
Everquip Racing and Catfoss Group have joined forces over the winter and Estment has just recently returned to the UK and is eagerly awaiting his first test of the Suzuki at the Spanish circuit of Cartagena in early March.
“I am thrilled to be making my return to the Bennetts British Superbike paddock and even more excited for the new challenge that lies ahead. I have had a fair bit of experience onboard the big bikes at Suzuka and Oschersleben in the World Endurance series and got on very well with the adaptation from Supersport machinery,” said Estment.
“I can’t wait to begin testing now and learning every lap we circulate. The Suzuki is beautiful and I believe it is the right tool for the job. I can’t thank Stuart, all at Everquip, Ben (Catfoss Group) and all of my other loyal sponsors for making this possible. Here’s to a great, fast and safe 2019.”
