‘First impression could not be better!’ - McPhee

John McPhee completed his 2021 track action with a taste of 2022 at Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto this week.

Joining his new Sterilgarda Max Racing squad for two days at the Andalucian track, McPhee was reunited with 2019 teammate, Ayumu Sasaki, as the pair prepare to take on next season with Husqvarna machinery.

Switching from three years aboard the Honda, McPhee began his new adventure on the 2021-spec FR 250 GP with the aim of adapting the bike to his riding style ahead of the winter break.

The Scot will return to the track in mid-February, back at Jerez, as he begins his journey with the new 2022 Husqvarna.

“I had a really enjoyable two days here in Jerez,” McPhee said from Spain. “It’s been fantastic to get to know all of my crew and also my new bike.

“The first impression could not be better! It is really nice to work with all these guys. The Husqvarna bike is working really well and it didn’t seem like it took me long to adapt.

“I have some ideas to think over the winter to keep improving. Overall they have been two successful days, for which we can go into the winter break happy.”

“In Jerez our two pilots took confidence both with the team and with the bike and I have to say that I am satisfied with the work done by Ayumu and John,” Max Biaggi, team owner confirmed.

“With this line up we have two strong pilots with a lot of experience, therefore will be necessary to work hard, to have the chance to reach the leading positions with both of them.”
